The Farewell~~=)

This is the last entry for this blog. So we were asked to answer a few questions.

1. What do you like about blogging?

- what I like about blogging that it give the chance to express my feeling in words and also the way I feel and also my point of views. Not only we can learn from ourselves and also people can learn from us. It can be said as sharing of knowledge and also learn about others as well as their culture and traditions.

2 what do you don’t like about blogging?

- what I do not like about the blogging is that at times we do not have anything to write and the updating it practically every week is kind of burdening and heavy for us as we are very packed with our studies, due to this, the quality of my blogging is reducing.

3. What have you gained from blogging?How?

- I have improved in my English language and the way I write essays.In the each entry it requires me to express my thoughts and I need the good skill in vocabulary and grammar. The more I write, the more I improve my writing and excel it. I even start to write creatively at times. I mean at least I am taking an initiative.

4. What do you like about this course?

- I like this coursed because I get to learn so many new things especially things regarding technology. I am now a changed person as I know really a lot regarding computers, e-learning and all technology related stuffs. I am more knowledgeable after taking this course.

5. What you do not like about this course?

- what I do not like about the course is that the workload that is given to us…it is really very pressuring and burdening for all of us…it is just too much for us to be done. This is what I do not like about this course.

6. What have you learnt from this course?

-I learn how to edit audio, video, photo and many more…I also learn how to make my lesson interesting by using technological teaching aids and materials. This will make my students in class excited and interested.

7. What have you learnt from this course that you did not expect to?

-i didn’t expect that i will learn how to make technological teaching aids.

8. What you have expected but you do not learn from this course?
-I thought I will be given training on how to do certain sofwares but I know due to time constraint it was unable.

9. Comments regarding modules

1. Internet and computing skills

a. What do you like about this module?

This module helps me to acquire more skills on internet and computing. Honestly, I never know how to encode files and so on. I did learn about it in this module.

b. What do you not like about this module?

Perhaps the simple part such as web search, I don’t think it is necessary as we are not a newbie in using computer.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?

It helps me to make a full use of the skill that I learned in this module. Moreover, it helps me to create creative aids.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?

I will say nothing because it is quite beneficial.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?

Storing, I think. Previously, I did not know that we can store some files online. It is good as the possibility to get it missing or misplaced is low.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?

Skills such as encoding, downloading and web search can help me to choose what the best is for my students. For instance, I can Google for creative lesson plan to implement in class.

2. Photo Editing

a. What do you like about this module?

Of course, the steps on how to use different photo editing softwares such as adobe photoshop cs3, photoscape etc.

b. What do you not like about this module?

Honestly, some part or steps are wrong and unclear so it leads me to some confusion. I’m quite upset about it.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?

I like to create the eBook. It is quite fun as I can choose what I want to use in the book. I like to edit the pictures too. By editing, it I learn more and mixing my previous and new knowledge.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?

The task given is okay but the requirement is quite disturbing. As I said in my entry meaningful picture is subjective matter.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?

Obviously, photo editing!

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?

It helps to edit the picture and make it more personal. For instance, certain pictures have logo. I can remove the logo using Microsoft paint and adobe Photoshop cs3.

3. Audio Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module?

The skills in this module, for example, how to clear noise from the audio.

b. What do you not like about this module?

I will say nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?

I like the mash up two songs tasks as I need to choose two songs which will be harmonized when I combined them. As I mentioned in my previous entry, for lyrics are important. So the criteria will be two related lyrics with harmonized music.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?

The noise reduction task. It is quite impossible to reduce the noise perfectly. It is quite annoying.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?

The new skill that I acquire is how to reduce the noise and combine two songs.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?

First, I can use authentic material from my own recording, for instance, podcast. Then I can reduce the noise so that my voice will be clearer. Then, I can any songs and mash it up so it be a new rhythm and catchy. The students will love it.

4. Video Editing Skills

a. What do you like about this module?

Honestly, i don’t feel anything.

b. What do you not like about this module?

Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?

Nothing.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?

The changes that my partner and I need to made. It caused me uncomfortable.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?

Nothing because I am already acknowledge about video editing.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?

Choose or capture the right pictures, to extract the audio from the video and so on. The pictures can be used as an aid. The audio is for listening skill.

5. Software for ELT

a. What do you like about this module?

I like the skills to create the brochure, advertisements and so on. It is quite beneficial.

b. What do you not like about this module?

Nothing.

c. What do you like about the task given for this module?

It helps me to do other assignment such as technology. Now I know, it is quite easy to use Microsoft Publisher.

d. What do you not like about the task given for this module?

Nothing.

e. What are the specific skills that you learn in this module?

Creating advertisement, brochure, business form and card, etc.

f. How the skills learnt in this module can help in the making and choosing of teaching aids for the ELT classroom?

Can create those stuffs to use as teaching aids. For instance, how to write advertisements.

10. If you can change anything about this course, state what it is and elaborate.

-the workloads. It should be more organized and we should be given more time.

Microsoft publisher~~

At first, Madam Foziah showed us the videos. I was very shy as she showed our video to whole class. She said that we need to edit and add more romance element. Haiqal was not in Malaysia. I thought it will be difficult to re-edit. So I message him. Both of us agreed that we just want to keep the video the way it is. I don’t know what kind of romance elements that Madam Foziah wants us to add.

So let’s forget about that, this week we got our Module 5. Too late and surely will disturb our study week but it is a great help as I need to make a brochure. It is quite fun to explore the software. We can do banner, advertisements, business cards.

I worked with Haiqal to produce a video. Well, our theme is ‘love’. I was discomfort with the title as she might expect more from us. The next Ella and Wuchun? No.no.no! So we decided to make it simple. Thank you so much for friends who helped us in making the video.

Ebook~

This week we learned about eBook. We have to create our own eBook using power point presentation. She had shown to us a few examples from our seniors to give us clear view on how to do it.

It is good where we can create our own ebook.it is new experience for us because we have never been exposed to that. We also can portray own creativity and ideas on delivering the message through the eBook.

In e-book,

1) A theme of the story.

2) Setting (time and place)
3) Plot that shows the conflict, climax and resolution
4) Characterization
5) Navigational tools
6) Pictures must be clear cut and colourful.
7) Sound or voice to integrate in the eBook..

Subjective matter~

For this week, I didn’t attend class on Monday. That is because I was a bit unwell. Thanks to Madam Foziah, she asked me to come on Tuesday’s class. I am a bit well at that moment. So this week, she wanted us to edit our pictures. She said that we need to make it meaningful. Meaningful? It is subjective when we are talking about this matter. Madam Foziah did show us the picture of Wuchun and Ella. Honestly, I can’t see any message there. Still, I accept it as it is subjective. So I decided to put the picture of little nephew, Hadif.

In my opinion, meaningful picture is when it relates to our personal. I love my nephew so much so I edit his picture and combine it in candle’s picture. I also put a part of poem in the picture which reflects my tendency to protect him and help him to explore the world. Here is the result of my picture editing. Thanks to Syafiq(Chill Sesiput) for helping editing this picture.

module 2~

Module 2 is about photo editing.

I like to edit my pictures. Usually, I’m using picnic (online photo editing). However, I can only use certain features.

I scrutinize the software that introduced in the module~

What is difference? Should I ask? I don’t think so. I will never get the answer.

We can be a composer~

This week madam Foziah asked us to worked on our task 3 from module 3.

For task 1, we are required to choose a song, and then edit it. It is recommended to choose the chorus of the song and turn it to a ringtone. The song could either be a Malay, Mandarin, Hindi or an English song.

Task 2, we need to combine two different songs by cut and paste. It is quite difficult as we need to make sure the tempo is click and sound nice.
